A sympathy card and here she is... my big girl!

I don't know about you, but sympathy cards are not up there with my favourites. I needed one quickly for a friend who's son was killed in a car crash. The image is a freebie from Marjie ( ) . Coloured it with my Copics, cut out with Nesties.
The dp is some of my favourite Basic Grey papers. The ribbon is from my stash.
Lynette, these are for you. You asked me to post pictures of Hannah's first day, so here she is. Brother reluctantly posing with his sister, pulling faces.
How big does she look? I get all teary eyed just looking at these pictures. My beautiful girl, all ready for school and so very proud of herself when she got home, because: 'You know what, ouma? I was the only one that didn't cry! Those children are silly, don't they know school is fun?'
Oh, how I hope that school will remain fun for the next twelve years. It took her mom ages to do the plait, but Hannah insisted that she didn't want 'wild' hair on her first day.
And then I couldn't resist. The obligatory photo of her school shoes. There is just something about shiny new, slightly too big school shoes that makes my heart melt. How far do these two little feet still have to go. My prayer is that God will send His angels to walk with her in those shoes and protect her from hurt.
Have a great Saturday everybody, I'm off to watch the cricket and make some challenge cards. Tonight we are going to friends for some Eland steaks, can't wait! Bernard, our friend, is a master when it comes to cooking game.

  1. Thanks you for indulging me, my friend. She is so very cute...and you probably agree that there is no stopping the growing up process once they reach school going age.

  2. Such a proud Ouma. I do miss not being part of my little ones first day, when they ar far away. My eldest just started high school. We were there when he had his first schoolday. I asked if he would like us to go with him now... LOL. He replied. OHHH Gran!!!!. I got the message. Hope that the Lord does help on her long journey and may it be a very succesful and enjoyable one.
So far so good with the cricket.... hope the weather holds. Thanks for popping by. That's way too much from me.

  3. How precious is this Tertia. Thanks for sharing. Yes... no matter how old they are or what path our kids are on we continue to pray for God's protection, blessing and guidance. Have a good day. Sharon

  4. Ahhhh lovely pics Tertia.
