WOYWW- Is this crazy

Can you believe I an doing a WOYWW post on New YEAR's day.  Not posting a desk though, just what happened at my house in the early hours of the morning yesterday. Hope that counts. I am afraid my desk will be very neglected today, too much cleaning to do. LOL
This year we decided to let some Chinese lanterns free in honour of all those who are no longer with us.The grandies were fascinated and the adults too, let me tell you.
Littlest grandie hated the fireworks. This was the face when I turned around as she said, 'big noise, ouma, I scared'. Luckily I had my camera in hand.
Happy New Year to all of you, may this year be a great one, filled with peace, good health and lots of blessings.

  4. Aah, who can blame her for not liking so much noise, plenty of time for fireworks when she grows up I guess. Nice pics of the family. Happy New Year! Anne x #7

  7. That is such a fab photo, grabbed shots are so often the best! I love those lanterns but they might be banned around here because of all the thatched roofs...sigh

  9. We had lanterns to release but didn't because the wind was going the wrong way. We wanted it to go out to sea because a fire was caused by one of these lanterns on Christmas day!!! A blessed new year! Patsy from

  11. Oh poor baby, my 19 year old baby still doesn't much like the noise either, although these days it is about the noise not the scariness. The lanterns a re a lovely gentle way to show that you remember, bet they were pretty.

  13. Oh poor wee mite! Love how your first reaction was to photograph her and not comfort her, lol!! You're a true blogger Tertia!! The lanterns are a lovely way to remember people and to put a soft and gentle close on 2012. Sounds like 2013 is going to be a great year for your family, hope the wedding goes ok.

  17. All those experts who say you need to plan your photos and frame it etc have obviously not got children. You need to just grab what you can whenever it happens. The best shots are the ones that just happen when you are there. We are very lucky with our dogs and fireworks, they just lifted their head, looked at us and went back to sleep. Have a very Happy New Year. xx Maggie #45

  18. Must be warm where you are with all those shorts, Tertia. Can't even where shorts in the house where we are. Granddaughter is a doll. So fun at that age. Not in WOYWW this week, but just stopping by to say hi.
