WOYWW - I am still here.

I know I have been MIA for two weeks, but I did have a good reason, I promise. It is 'silly season' at school. We had the orientation of the new grade 8's, new parents welcome, parents evenings at all three schools (my leaders had to be at all 3 to look after kids) and I am still trying to do all my preparation for teaching and finish all marking in good time. (so far so good), but that meant that there has been very little time for crafting.
You DO NOT want to see my desk (upturned couch and every other flat surface I could find) I would be arrested for public indecency if I did show you, so I will just show you the results. My new Copics and stamps arrived from America and even though I did not really have time, I had to have a little play, didn't I? The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon and lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the papers are Bazzil and dp from Upikit, a local company.

I glitterified Tilda's dress and wings with Stickles and took a close up pic, hope you can see it, it is really gorgeous IRL. The images were coloured with my Copics.

Also made an easel card with another new Tilda. Dp is from Pebbles Inc.

I have to run back to school (another parents evening where the leaders are working! Pre-Grade this time), but before I go I want to leave you with a very big RAK request.

A very dear friend and fellow teacher, Cindy Geier, was diagnosed with breast cancer late last year. She had her first chemo treatment today. She is the mother of two teenage girls and dealing with this like an absolute lady. As a committed Christian, she is hanging on to her faith for strength and suppot, but I know that the WOYWWers are a very special group of people, so I feel I can ask you this favour. Won't you please send her a card or note of encouragement? If you would like to, please e-mail me at: and I will let you have her address.

In the mean time, please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Hope you all have a very fruitful and crafty week.

  1. Good morning Tertia,

I will definitely keep Cindy in my thoughts and prayers. A friend of mine was recently diagnosed also (Stage 3) and this week is her third chemo treatment.

Your cards look so cute. I think I'm partial to the easel card though (more my colors).

  2. Loving your pale lavender card. The other one is fabulous too. Love both colors and think you did an awesome job on both.

  3. Your cards are stunning, they are so pretty and such lovely colors you have used :)

Have a great WOYWW, Luv Karen #80

  4. Beautiful cards soooo cute, I most definitely will keep Cindy in my thoughts and prayers ,
    I hope You have a less busy week, Hugs May x x x x

  6. Both the cards are gorgeous, love them both i can never get the flowers to look right on my cards so still stick with flat ones, your friend will be in my thoughts and prayers Hope your week is less hetic and you find more time to craft Hugs Lou #82

  7. Best wishes to your friend. That easel card is wonderful!

  8. Welcome back Tertia. Sorry to hear the news about your friend. I'd love to send a card but I have an epic fail on all that these days!

Love the Tilda cards - the DP on the Easel card goes nicely with some of the modern punches, doesn't it?

  9. Oh, "Silly Season" we have that in our school too and yep, it's time! Very nice cards there and of course you HAD to take a moment to try out your new copic markers!

  10. Oh my gosh, I forget that term timings are so different around the world, I'm not sure. Any teacher her would really agree with me, but I remember this winter term as relatively quiet here in blighty. No sign if your room being freed up just yet then, ah, I think you're doing really well to do ANY crafting, considering that! Will be holding Cindy in my thoughts, will email you too.

  11. My mom was also diagnosed with breast cancer when I was a teenager, and a close family friend was just diagnosed a few weeks ago, and her daughters are the age now that I was then. I will be emailing you for her address, and will also be keeping her in my prayers.

I love the cards you have made! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog :)

    Happy WOYWW (on Thursday!)

  12. Oops, I forgot the mention - I got my craft mat at Wal Mart, in the sewing section. I believe it is Fiskars. The other side is a pretty green color, but the yellow is facing up right now, since it matches my walls!

  13. Welkom terug Tersia. Ek wil jou net bedank vir jou bedagsame woorde met my pa se onlangse afsterwe. Jou liefde en gebede word baie waardeer.
