WOYWW - No relief yet.

You heard me, still no relief from 'silly season at school, and still working on upturned couches and other stuff that is cluttering my workroom! My DD (I love having her home ) is showing no sign of finding her own place. I heard her tell a friend that it is so nice to come home from work to a clean house, washed and ironed clothes and a cooked meal. Looks like she is going to be here for a long time. So, I decided to negotiate with DH. He gives up his half of the garage as storage space for her junk (furniture, etc. ) and I will settle for her current bedroom as a craftroom and then she can use my (sigh, bigger and better ) craftroom to live in.
It seems to have worked, because come Sunday, we are moving everything around! YAY!!! Maybe next week, you will see a neater and more organised space.

By the way, if you happen to spot my glasses, please let me know where they are, can't find them anywhere!

My friend , Cindy, came through her first chemo like a trooper. Nausea is bad, but otherwise her spirits are high. Thank you to those who have e-mailed me about cards for her. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet with her address, but i am hoping to do so within the next two days. If you would still like to join in and send a card, please mail me at tertiaj@telkomsa.net and I will add your name to a little RAK draw that I have put together to say thank you. Please help spread the word amongst our crafty friends.

I did have some time to be crafty and made this lovely yellow and green card. Makes me happy just looking at the colours. Papers are from American Crafts and Bazzil and the image was coloured with my beloved Copics as usual.

Have a great week everybody and please don't forget to pop around to Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com to see al the other WOYWWers.

  7. I felt like I was the only one suffering by giving up my crafting space for returning loved ones. I have recently moved indoors for warmth, really I just want my space back (maybe with a heater too).

  9. Hugs to your friend, my eldest son had chemo a few years ago( he's fine now), and I remember how bad it made him feel. He recommends boiled sweets ( pineapple chunks/cola cubes etc) for helping to take the horrible taste out of your mouth afterwards. Great desk, by the way- love it! Shaz

  17. congrats on the negotiations for the new crafting space! I had a DD that came home and decided she liked having it all done for her that we had to lay down some rules as to what we would do and what we wouldn't. DD moved out 2 months later cause she thought that we were unreasonable to expect her to cook, clean, do dishes AND laundry like we did cause she worked all day...I wonder if she ever wondered where we went each day when we went ot work? Hmmm....just saying! I am offering up some blog candy so come leave a comment on my blog and get a chance to win! Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Vickie #90

  18. Here in the Philippines, our sons and daughters don't leave home until they get married! Hope you get your space organized soon! Praying for Cindy and I can send her a postcard if you send her address to patsy.paterno (at) gmail.com. When my brother in law had chemo he would prepare for it by eating a lot, because afterwards he had no desire at all to eat! Blessings! :^) patsy

  20. I think you are one special mum to move to the smaller space...what we do for our kids!

You did manage to turn out a great card even though your space is compromised with company.

  21. Good luck with the craft room. I guess moving to a smaller space would give you the chance for some culling? Just a thought. Sorry, I can't see your glasses, at least not without taking mine off!
