Good morning all! It is my last Wednesday of holidays so I am planning a lazy day playing with stuff. Not planning anything, just playing with whatever takes my fancy. My desk is a little cleaner, but to my horror I noticed the Christmas wrapping paper only after I took the photo. My beloved opics are there because I was cleaning them and refilling before I started working on my classes.
This is my work space, for now, watching the class videos and doing some colouring. My coffee is finished, time for a new one.
I told you I was playing. Made my own chalkboard paint and tested it on wood, cardboard and glass. Works like a charm! Also marked my file with a vinyl sign cut with my Silhouette.
Finally, I wanted to show you the lovely card I received from my online friend Janina who lives in Uitenhage. She sent a whole lot of awesome goodies too, but this card is just gorgeous, don't you think?
I hope you have all had an amazing week and don't forget to join in the worlds biggest blog hop over at Julia's
Yes, that is a lovely card your friend sent to you but I think the colouring you are doing is equally as good. Don't underestimate yourself.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your days before school starts.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx
I realize it's been a LONG time since I visited, but life and a recent illness got in the way. So glad to see you playing in your craft space. I'd give anything for a space like that.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a joyous New Year, and I look forward to seeing more of your art in 2015.
Happy WOYWW from #2.
It's another day of juggling for me today....I have Lexi one side of me building with the Knex and Sam is the other side doing jigsaws so I'm popping round some of my favourite blogs while they play happily 😃
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what you clever paper crafters are doing even if I have no idea what I would do with it all 😃
Hugs,
Annie x. #20
A lovely card & goodies from your friend . Enjoy your day playing around Tertia. Happy woyww Jill #10
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely projects in your work area. Sandra de @14
ReplyDeleteYour couch look so cushy! Watching crafting videos from there must be a joy! I didn't realize colouring with copics was such a serious art form! It really makes the images come alive! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #27
ReplyDeleteWe bought art classes too, but Lifebook, it gives you inspiration and new ideas, we've been crafting on the couch too. Our living room is so much warmer. Horace @ no. 49
ReplyDeleteMaking your own chalkboard paint? Wow, that's clever - I din't know you could even do that!! It's very effective that's for sure. Great colouring too :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 18 xx
I am sad that I got rid of my copic markers after Tech...I would love to give them a go again, but they are now a terrible price...mind you they were expensive 20 years ago too! Love your pieces and the card you received is wonderful too. #63
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coloring with your Copics. I would love to have even a small set, but have so many markers that are still good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Betsy and me this week
Krisha #12
I couldn't sit on the sofa and take the lesson..I'd have to be at a table. Or asleep in minutes! Admire you for taking the lessons and admire your colouring skills anyway! And your friends, that card is amazing!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hadn't realized one could take lessons in colouring! But looking at your little boy there, it is actually beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the card your friend from Uitenhage sent you. (Is that in the Netherlands?)
Have a great week,
Lisca#25
Making your own chalkboard paint, how does that work? Anyway, you just gave me some nice inspirations!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit earlier!
Hugs

Looks like you are making the most of your last days of holiday which is good. Your colouring looks great. I have never markers successfully but have fallen in love with colouring with pencils recently. They seem more forgiving.
ReplyDeleteYour chalk board paint looks brilliant.
Hugs Lisax #26
hope you've enjoyed your last day of freedom! It's such a nuisance having to go to work, but as you say, it allows us the cash to spend!! I don;t have the patience for detailed colouring in, but the card you received looks gorgeous. Helen 9
ReplyDeleteHow cool that you made your own chalkboard paint! And I love the look of the Copics, they're so popular these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and for the nice comments. :-)
Happy Woyww and Happy New Year!
Sandy #30
Homemade chalkboard paint very kewl and I'm sure you'll be colouring at the level you want it's all about layering it and not giving it up your work is just wonderful btw and what a sweet card to have gotten in the post from your friend hugs Nikki 8
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy!!! I hadn't played with my Copics in a while, and when I started coloring some Magnolia stamps I realized that I lost my touch on hair!!! Ugh! Skin and clothes I'm OK on but hair has baffled me once again. I'm thinking I might need to brush up on some lessons too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Crafting!
Jeannie #33
Oh my gosh your colouring in is amazing! I don't do colouring in myself - oh I have a couple of marker pens ... do they count? I admire anyone who can produce work like yours ... well done indeed! Thanks for popping by my blog this week. Happy WOYWW'ing! Love Debbie
ReplyDeleteI am ashamed to say that I use my (few) coptics only to write text in my art journal... I am just not much of a colouring-talent I guess... I LOVE what you can do with it! Happy New Year, happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #40
ReplyDeleteLots of great work going on there - I love your colouring, it's beautiful. And I'm very impressed at you making your own chalkboard paint - what a fab idea! Thanks for stopping by my desk earlier, I hope you have a great week,
ReplyDeleteDiana #50
I think I did not say it very well in English... I mean "I love what YOU do with it" (the 'can' makes it in general, isn't it? Oooh, it is hard sometimes to find the right words in another language... sorry... have a great day (at least I know how to spell that!)
ReplyDeleteThe classes sound useful and that card? Just fab. I like the idea of blackboard paint too - I could certainly use one kitchen cabinet painted with it so we could ALL write stuff quickly as it gets used up and not have to try to remember on shopping day. Somehow, the notepad on the fridge is just not doing the trick!
ReplyDeleteHappy First WOYWW of 2015!
Mary Anne (15 - just a lucky coincidence)
Wow! I love your blog and your work space seems big too :) but your couch is just the best so cozy :) I'll probably would sit there and draw, watch crafting videos, and even do laundry there lol
ReplyDeleteLovely desk Christmas paper or not. So many neat things going on too. Made your own chalkboard paint? Love the vinyl too, want to do that so much!
ReplyDeleteAngie #48
I'm laughing about the Christmas paper. :) Now about that washi tape on my lamp: I have a disgusting amount of washi tape, and never save small pieces of it. I have MILES of the stuff. Sorry to disappoint you. :) leslie #68
ReplyDeleteHaa Haa! We both did the same thing...discovered something that should have been put away after taking the photo!!
ReplyDeleteGreat desk. Your colouring looks fantastic. I will make a note to pop over to see the class as I am not to savvy on copics.
How do you make chalkboard paint? Sounds interesting.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me at 58
xx
Its really easy. Just a 50 - 50 mixture of acrylic paint and tile grout. Works like a charm.
DeleteIt is all in the surprise of what is on the desk, I think I still have Christmas on mine somewhere and that is only because I didn't get enough of Christmas done last year. Maybe I will get a jump start on this year LOL. Interesting how you made your own chalkboard paint. good for you I should give it a go.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
Hugs Eliza & Yoda #76

Another busy bee on WOYWW - so many fab crafty activities. Sorry I am a bit late - been busy tidying and sorting cupboards ready for house viewing - argh!! x Jo
ReplyDeleteSomehow I never got around to your desk last week and after you were nice enough to stop by for a visit. You do a fab job with the Copic hair color. I should investigate some classes, learn to shade and learn what to shade and all that. Love your multiple desks. That couch looks real comfy!
