Good morning, it is hotter than hot here and its only 9h00! Another lovely day. I hope you all stay warm wherever you may be. It is Wednesday which means its time for WOYWW . I am hoping to visit a lot more often this year.
On my desk (that looks like a tip!) you will see the aftermath of a marathon session playing with my new toys. The Altenew stamps was won in a Fb competition. The stamping tool was a Christmas gift from hubby and the rest? Well I was playing and one thing led to another and then the next time I looked, my desk looked like this. Not my fault at all! LOL
Here are a selection of cards that I made with my new stamps from Altenew. I just love them!I thought I would share this lovely table with you all. I found it lying in the rain on a pile of rubbish at school about 3 years ago. I asked what they were going to do with it and after some detective work, I was told that it would either become firewood or be thrown away!!!! No Ways! I begged and pleaded until they told me if I could fetch it, I may have it. After some more detective work (asking around and looking at old pictutes) I came to the conclusion that it was one of the original pieces of furniture that was bought when the school was built, 90 years ago! My hubby finally had time during his December holiday to sand it down and restore it. Let me tell you, they don't make furniture like this anymore. All done by hand and very solid. He just needed to replace some dowels and it is good as new. I just LOVE my table and I am so happy that I could rescue it.
This is a photo of some of the family members that attended Hubby's birthday party on the 26th of Dec. When I look at this crazy lot, I realise just how blessed we are to still have each other.
I wish you all a happy and blessed New Year, filled with lots of creativity and messy desks!
Happy New Year. love the restored table, what a find. Happy family photo, too. Helen #2

Great looking desk and I love those beautiful cards! Congrats on the new/old table and its restoration. I hate to toss things out and tend to stick them on the curb for people to take if they want them. Resources are limited and we need to recycle! hope you have a Happy New Year! Vickie #12

ReplyDeleteyep, your crazy lot are a daily blessing aren't they..I hope DH had a really happy day. Love the idea of it being a hot day, we're at minus 4 degrees this morning, no great shakes I know, but I yearn for some sunshine warmth! Lovely cards with your new stamps, and more lovely than that, you've had time to get carried away at your craft desk; and I LOVE how the desk finished looking as if you've had a thoroughly good 'session'!

ReplyDeleteLots of nice new things to play with, Tertia, and what a gorgeous table! I've got an old office one that I restored years ago, that was going to be thrown out, and they certainly don't build them as substantial these days. So glad you had such a nice party with the family for your hubby's birthday. Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you like my little album.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
