Supreme Scrap tournament - Card challenge

I decided to be brave and take the plunge. I entered an international Scrap Tournament. I know, I know... I don't have the time. I am crazy busy at work. BUT  if I don't make the time to be creative I am going to go mad, so this way I am forced to make time to play.
The first challenge is up at Supreme Scrap Tournament and this is what it said:
Make a ATC card where Home is the theme. (ATC size = 2.5x3.5 inches or 64x89 mm)
It can be anything you want. It can be a welcome home card, a card about moving, a card with any quote on being/feeling at home or use the shape of a house.

- There has to be a title/quote/wish on the card

- You can not use any spray inks or flowers

- You can not use any kind of cutting machine

- You can not use any image with a house on it (that is a challenge huh!!!

My head was spinning. No flowers? No die cutting machine!???  Was that even possible? Could it be done?
I was playing around with a few ideas. What was 'home' to me? South Africa, obviously, but how do you portray that on such a small scale? Eventually I decided to make two completely different ATC's and to let my friends decide which one to enter. The answer was almost unanimous, they all loved the door. I created the door with a score board and swiping ink over the scored cardstock. This gives the illusion of a wooden door. The windows were cut out and recycled plastic used as window panes. The doorknob is a very old brass brad that I have had for years. I cut it with my trusty Tim scissors to form a doorknob.

The quote is one that my dad often used: Home is not always 4 walls, sometimes it is the wide open spaces. I think that is very true about our beloved country. The door actually opens to reveal a typical South African sunset in the Karoo, with a windmill.

Here is the other ATC that did not make the cut. It is a typical South African shack that you will find at any squatter camp in South Africa. I made the shack with corrugated paper and drew and coloured the pumpkins with my beloved Copic markers, The heart is a South African flag.
I had fun with this one, here's hoping I make it through to the next round.
