WOYWW - a lot, but not a desk.

Its the last week of the school holiday and DH's leave and suddenly he is trying to finish all the jobs he had a month to do. That means that I get called every 5 seconds to come and hold this, paint this, look at this etc. So, no use for me to try and work at my craft desk. LOL
I have made myself at home at the dining room table and I am doing some preparation for next week. New textbooks are being covered and first sections are read. New readers have been read, even yesterday's local paper has been read. I collected the ingredients for making my own texture paste. The recipe came from Michelle van Wyk. We shall see if it works.

If you look closely, you will see some grey paint, I had to use that for one of those 'come paint this quickly trips to DH's garage and there is a roll of dark grey vinyl. DD wants me to cut her a phrase for her wall with my wonderful Silhouette.
And here you see my other workplace, DH is busy sanding and repainting our bedroom furniture. I had to do the aging on the edges. He 'can't' - I think he just gets lonely in there and wants somebody to talk to.
Have a great week everybody and don't forget to visit Julia for the list of WOYWW desk to visit.

  1. It's lovely to hear of you working/playing together :-) We seem to have done rather a lot of that lately to get everything packed up ready for our move....there are lots of decisions to be made [together] when you're moving from a 4 bedroomed house that's been the family home for over 65 years to a much smaller new home :-)

  3. Hi Tertia
isn't always the way that all those jobs that need doing get left until the very last minute and then it is a rush and not such a good mood when they are being done.
You have managed to stay calm and keep on top of things so that sends you to the top of the class
Have a great WOYWW today and enjoy the rest of your week

  5. Hi Tertia, just popping in to my fellow WOYWW neighbors first. I know I'm supposed to be admiring the work on your dining room table, but really, I'm envious of the white bedroom furniture! I'm in the start of re-doing my room and trying to convince my DH to buy white furniture! Thanks for sharing. Super Stamp Girl #50

  9. I had honestly planned to visit you last week, and simply could not get here in time. For that I genuinely apologize. It seems so weird that I am leaving a comment for someone whose weather is SO OPPOSITE to mine right now, but I know what you are going through. I hope you have AC, because I couldn't live without it. I want to know if the texture works. I would love to know the recipe, too.

Glad you and hubby work well together. Sounds like you have lots of patience. Happy WOYWW from #5 and thanks for visiting while I slept.

  26. Hmmmm... very odd. I was typing and my message just vanished. I said that time off works out that way where you don't do anything until the last few days when you try to cram everything in. The table looks quite tidy and ready for action... once you are done with all those other things.

  27. I thought I had a busy life, but I now feel exhausted after reading about yours. You have to remember that even ageing the furniture is crafting, even if it is not the type you really want to do. Thank you for your visit and lovely comments. Have a good week. xx Maggie #24

  28. Great workspaces, Tertia - even if not the ones you had hoped for!! My hubby now can't do the jobs, so he sits on a chair and tells me how to do the tasks step by step!! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for him. He's getting there, slowly. It wasn't nice last Friday - but even the specialist is talking now about the medication plan for "next autumn". I wasn't sure last week that there would BE a next autumn - so that's very encouraging.
    Have a great week.

  39. When is it that when men work in their workshops they don't want to be alone, they want you to stand there and keep them company even if they aren't talking to you? My dh does that and it drives me crazy, give me something to do or let me go do something else! Your furniture lovely!

  41. Well, damn Blogger! I just wrote three paragraphs and it sat there and ground around and then said 503 error, try again in 30 seconds, only my whole comment was gone, wasn't it? Try WHAT again in 30 seconds. I am so far behind and this is making me whacko. I'm going to publish one paragraph at a time ...
